Women-only studio · Stoke-on-Trent
Your neck, shoulders and jaw have been carrying too much.
Indian head massage in Stoke-on-Trent for women who hold everything above the shoulders. From £25, in a private log cabin studio.
20 minutes, £25. Pay at the studio.
You know the feeling. A headache building behind the eyes by mid-afternoon. Neck tight by midday. Jaw clenched before you even noticed. You've tried stretching it out. It comes back.
Indian head massage works the scalp, neck and shoulders directly. Not a gentle stroke. Pressure along the muscles that carry desk, screen and everything else. Twenty minutes is enough to shift it. A longer session works deeper and stays with you.
It's also the shortest, lowest-commitment way to come and see the studio before booking anything bigger.
“Francia is a true gem in the world of massage therapy. Her attentive and professional approach, combined with her remarkable holistic techniques, provide an unforgettable experience.”
What is Indian head massage?
Indian head massage is an upper-body treatment that focuses on the scalp, neck, shoulders and upper back. It uses massage techniques, rhythmic movements and acupressure-style pressure on the scalp to release tension in the muscles of the head, neck and shoulder girdle.
Unlike a full-body treatment, you remain largely clothed. No oils are used on the body (some therapists use oil on the scalp; this will be discussed before your session starts).
It has been practised in India for over a thousand years as part of everyday self-care. In the UK it is best known as a treatment for tension headaches, screen fatigue, neck stiffness and difficulty switching off.
What happens during your session
You arrive and we have a short consultation. For new women this is a form plus a few minutes talking through what is going on: where the tension sits, anything relevant in your health history, what you want from the treatment.
Then I work through the neck, shoulders, upper back and scalp. The pressure is firm where it needs to be and lighter where the tissue calls for it. I check in as we go. Nothing is done to you that you have not agreed to.
The length you book changes how far the work goes:
- 20 minutes gets through the worst of the tension.
- 30 minutes allows more thorough work on the neck and upper back.
- 60 minutes treats the whole upper body properly, face included, worked as deeply as the tissue needs.
Why women book it
There are a few common patterns.
- Pure tension. Screen work, driving, carrying children, holding everything together in your head. It lands above the shoulders. The 20-minute session is the fastest relief on the menu.
- A first visit. Booking a full-body massage for the first time means undressing, lying on a couch, an hour of unknown. Indian head massage is a lower-stakes first step. You stay largely clothed, it is a shorter time commitment, and you get to meet me and see the cabin before you decide about anything else. That conversion tends to go one direction.
- The price. £25 for 20 minutes is the most affordable treatment I offer, and for a lot of women that accessibility is reason enough to book.
The women-only part
The studio is a private log cabin at the end of a quiet garden. One therapist, one door. The only people who have ever been through that door are women.
That matters for tension-related treatments more than people expect. Your shoulders cannot come down if any part of you is staying alert. The cabin is designed around the idea that genuine relaxation needs a room that actually feels safe.
